RSU 25 Food & Nutrition

Welcome to the Food Service Team at RSU 25.  We are responsible for daily operations, administration and support of the Child Nutrition Program mission.  Our District is a 1:1 District meaning all students K-12 have Free Health meals to children.  In addition to our primary responsibility of all RSU 25 we offer one on one interaction with the children each day as they come through the Food Service Lines making sure they have fruit or juice on their tray for Breakfast.  A fruit or vegetable on their tray for lunch.  Each team member goes through a Serve Safe class on Education of Food Safety for our students.  Our team is small with years of experience but yet building on new fresh ideas and staff to our team.  Each team member has a one or more specialties, but also is able to assist other team members as needed with general team responsibilities and ideas.

Breakfast Programs:
The School Breakfast Program helps to increase breakfast participation and acknowledge the importance of breakfast in improving learning.  Which we encourage all students to participate in.

Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program (FFVP):
FFVP provides fresh fruit and vegetables to children outside school meals, often served as a snack.  This program has helped students try new foods and increase their daily consumption of fruits and vegetables.

National School Lunch Program (NSLP):
NSL provides low-cost or free healthy meals to children.  We work hard on the menus to provide fresh new ideas for our lunch program.  We also offer a second meal option during lunch to give our students 2 options for lunch.  Schools must follow federally established guidelines for this program.

Summer Food Service Program (SFSP):
The NSLP also provides for the SFSP which provides low-cost or free healthy meals to children during the summer while schools are traditional not in attendance.  Schools must follow federal established guidelines.
