    MARVEL! Maine's Virtual Library contains EBSCOHost

    Databases that allow access to full text articles in more than 1000 magazines. Allows access to Britannica Online, Funk and Wagnalls, newspapers, and a Literature Resource Center.

    United Streaming

    Unitedstreaming is a digital video-on-demand service brought to you by Discovery Education. It contains the largest and most current K-12 digital video/video clip library. The user name and password are posted in the library or available from Mrs. Flagg.

    Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center

    Database covering social issues which brings together pro/con viewpoint articles, government and organizational statistics, court cases, newspaper and magazines articles, as well as links to more than 1,000 reviewed and subject-indexed web sites.     Today's Science

    Database which is updated weekly. Contains links to a 15-year backfile and explains important developments in biology, chemistry, the environment, space, physics and technology.  "Need a Research Topic?" has a one-stop menu which allows students to get started on their own scientific research.

    American Indian History Online

    Access to more than 15,000 years of culture and history through event and topic entries, biographies, images and videos, maps and charts, primary sources and timeline entries.

    Health Reference Center

    Database provides clear and reliable information on today's most pressing health topics and key social concerns including; body systems, diseases and disorders, drug abuse and addiction, mental health and developmental disorders and nutrition and wellness.

    NewsBank

    Access World News - International and Domestic Perspectives for Research Papers, Debate and Speech. The electronic editions local, regional, and national U.S. newspapers as well as full-text content of key international sources -- all in one easy-to-search database with a world map. Each provides unique coverage of local and regional news, including companies, politics, sports, industries, cultural activities, and people in the community, as well as a distinctive focus offering a variety of viewpoints on local and world issues.

    Career Cruising

    This database allows students access to colleges and universities, career profiles, skills assessments and a built in resume builder. If you are a new user, click on "New Member" and follow the instructions. The Activation Code (available from Mrs. Flagg in the library) is only needed the first time an account is created.

    Noodle Tools

    An online bibliography generator that allows students to plug in the information needed to make proper bibliographies.

    Columbia Encyclopedia

    6th edition is a comprehensive encyclopedia and database of over 51,000 entries and more than 80,000 hypertext cross-references.

    CIA World Factbook

    Details of the geographic, political, legal and economic makeup of countries world wide. Includes maps and references.

    American Heritage Dictionary

    Over 90,000 entries feature 10,000 new words and 70,000 audio word pronunciations, 900 full-page color illustrations, language notes and word-root appendixes.

    Roget's II: the New Thesaurus

    Contains 35,000 synonyms and over 250,000 cross references.

    Bartlett's Familiar Quotations

    Contains 11,000 searchable quotations.
